THE inaugural Giving for Thurrock Day was a huge success.
Members of the community, throughout Thurrock, took part by donating, giving up their time, holding raffles, tea parties, community clean-ups and
many offered random acts of kindness.
So far the total raised is £2,700 – yet there is more coming in every
day. A total of 25 activities took place including:
l Palmers Solicitors raffle and information sessions, it raised more
l C2C collections by Prince’s Trust, HW Wilson, Thurrock Council and IKEA raised more than £400.
l HW Wilson raised £610 through its staff and contractor raffle.
l Thurrock CVS raised £80 at the Superhero Tea Party.
l Robin Personnel contributed another £80 from their tea party
at Thameside Theatre Café and Navigator Terminals donated a
huge £1,000 cheque to the community funds.
l Members of Thurrock Council were out and about clearing up
the environment and supporting people to make pledges on the
day. They’ll also be out and about during the next couple of weeks.
Other pledges included Antonio and Richard from Street Cleaning who have pledged to clear and tidy numerous gardens.
